Oh my, only 4 weeks to go!!!

Time for some shimmer and shine!!! Starting to feel like decorating the house and that always makes me think of tinsel. So I've pulled out the Glimmer paper as seen in Holiday Catty pg 18. For this card I've also used the adorable Watercolor Winter stamp set on pg 14. Love the 2 step stamping technique for foolproof artwork.

You may notice that I have actually put my greeting on the inside of the card and punched the same shape out of the front piece. This is a nifty technique as it decorates the front and inside of your card in the one go!

Only 5 weeks to go!!

Where is the time going????
This week, a scary reminder that the 25th Dec isn't far away. There are a couple of things I love about this card, and one of them is that many of the features are things I have done before. Why recreate the wheel? The layout, the colours, the DS papers, the circle greeting, bakers twine etc.... The point being, WHY NOT?? If it works why change it?

The one stand out feature of this card is the stitching, well faux stitching!!! I have again used the paper piercing templates to do my outline of holes. then I have just drawn in the lines using a uni-ball Signo Gel Pen. It's a quick and easy way to create a very realistic look.

6 weeks to go, time to start wrapping!!

Yes, for this week of my countdown I thought I'd take a break from cards and decorate a gift bag and matching card. I give a lot of small gifts out at this time of year for simply saying thanks to the many people who help me through the year. There are also all those teacher gifts etc...
You can get plain white gift bags in lots of places these days, I buy mine in bulk lots.
For this project I used the very cute stamp set Owl Occasions from the Holiday Mini catty and DS papers from Be of Good Cheer. Quick and easy but it definately brightens up a gift.

7 weeks till Christmas!

Now it's starting to get serious! We are in November already, the shops are already busy and crowded. So, for this week's card I have tried something a little different, a "shaped card".
I have used the Labels Collection Framelits and my Big Shot to full advantage. The DS papers are from Be of good cheer and I've used some bakers twine in matching Lucky Limeade. I'm really happy with the result

The other feature I will also point out is my new FAVOURITE tool, the paper piercing guides. There are two sets available at the moment, 1 in main catty, 1 in Holiday Mini. The pre marked guide for piercing dots makes embellishing your projects SO EASY. I have used it here around one of my framelit layers and the straight line down the side. Love the added look it gives the card.
GREAT NEWS see below where you can get a paper piercing pack for FREE!!!!!
