Scrapbooking

You can tell it's holidays and that I'm recovering from an operation, that's about the only time I scrapbook, but I'm actually hooked at the moment. I love how this page turned out and thought I'd share it even though I'm sorry to say the SU products used here are now retired. I used the jumbo outline alphabet stamp set for my title and the bike stamp along the bottom is also a SU stamp. I love the freedom of using stamping on my pages, especially for titles, rather than relying on stickers or chipboard etc. You always run out of the letters you need. With stamps you never run out. If you do scrapbooking, I highly recommend investing in a variety of ABC stamp sets in different sizes/fonts.

Notice how I stamped the first letter of each word first on a colour cardstock and cut them out. This shows how you can use your stamps in a variety of ways. You could use patterned paper for even more colour. Most importantly for a task like this is the Stamp-a-ma-jig!!! Another "must have" scrapbooking tool.

Till next time,

A little bit fancy.

Sorry for the washed out photo, but I wanted you to see the shine on the butterflies. This was created by embossing with black embossing powder. The card base is in Riding Hood Red with the "Love letter" DS papers. Other touches include sponging around all edges, tearing and an antique brad. Together these elements create a stylish card that's just "a little bit fancy"! Hope you like it.

Stampin' Pastels

I dusted off my pastels this week and made a collection of cards and tags using the same basic image. For these projects I used the pastels with my blender pen, picking the colours that coordinated with the cardstocks used. This was a great opportunity to go through my scrap pieces of cardstock and make use of some of those left over bits and pieces from other projects. On the card below I also used the Big Shot with the top note die and "lots of tags" set. With this card I also cut the flowers out and raised them on stampin dimensionals for added interest. Simple but pretty.

Love letters and buttons

Hi stampers. Yes you are seeing correctly-I have made some new cards. Now these cards were super easy but I love the way they turned out. Sometimes the less you think the better!! I just grabbed a few basic items (Love Letter DS Paper; coordinating cardstock; Big Shot and dies) and went from there. I have used the Top Note die, ovals and the new Embosslits "Sweet Buttons" from our Autumn/Winter mini. Remember this mini finishes July 31st. The greeting is from "Perfect Punches" stamp set which is one of those all round sets with birthday, Christmas, thanks, congratulations etc... Handy to have.

O.K, NEW PROMOTION launched today. When you spend $100 you will receive a free set of ribbon and buttons!! These items are gorgeous. See the flyer on my side bar for all the details.
