Christmas cards No.7

A little "vintage". I was blog surfing and came across a card on the amazing site of Danielle Daws and was immediately inspired. I loved the idea of using the negative image of a punched out shape. So I grabbed for my ornament punch and started creating. I added sponging around all the edges for definition and added the scrolls stamping over the corners, before adhering the pieces to the card base. You could do this in so many other colour combinations.

Hope you like it!

Christmas cards No.6

OK a couple more! All the same colours/papers I have been using this year, just a few variations. Sometimes when creating a lot of cards at once you feel the need to make them all different, however if they're all going to be given to a variety of people, why reinvent the wheel?? I've had a lot of fun this year because I have given myself a break and kept it simple! Using left over pieces from one card to create another is OK!!!!
My favourite part of the blue card above is the 3D ornament and the strips of textured white cardstock (left over from cards in No.2 post). Note also the stamped background of baubles with versa mark ink and the words "very merry". Hope your Xmas is very merry too!

Christmas Cards No.4 and No.5

Hi again. Many cards in this post and maybe all I'll get done.......... once I get going though it's hard to stop! So here I have used up scrap strips of DS paper to create my own patchwork DS paper look which I've then put through the Big Shot with the Top Note die. Quick but effective. To finish off, a simple greeting and voila!

Now here I decided to get creative WITHOUT ANY STAMPING. The "letters to Santa" DS paper has such lovely designs which lend themselves to beautiful 12x12 scrapbooking pages. BUT they are also perfect when cut out and layered to make gorgeous quick "last minute" cards. The only addition was a ribbon on the ones on the left, otherwise it's all DS paper with the coordinating cardstock card bases. I love the "Blushing bride" pink cards. Not a colour usually used in Xmas cards, but as that is one of the colours in this paper range it works beautifully.

DON'T FORGET the December Frenzy sale!!!!! The "Every Moment" stamp set (pg 72) has already sold out and has returned to it's full retail price. Get in quick and don't miss out. I am taking orders all through the Christmas period. Sale ends Dec 31st.

Christmas Cards No.3

Getting into the spirit now! But time running out fast! Lucky none of my cards have to be posted overseas! The DS papers featured here are from the gorgeous set in our Idea Book & Catalogue called "Letters to Santa". I love the colour combo including marina mist and riding hood red. I've also used the ornament punch again which I've only just added to my collection. It's getting a work out! But again, get a production line going and I now have 6 more cards ready. Yeah.

Christmas cards! No. 2

This time I had to use one of my favourite colours, Baja Breeze and of course the Big Shot! The white cardstock has been put through the Big shot with the Square Lattice texture folder and the letters have also been cut out using this amazing tool! Other notable features here are the eyelet border and ornament punches. Anything that makes card making quick and simple is a winner with me!!!! Back soon with some more creations.

Christmas cards!

I have finally made a start! I always aim to make at least 6 cards with each basic layout. With a production line technique it only takes a few extra minutes to make multiple cards which is what we all need at this time of year!!!!

So here, all I have done is used two different DS papers and different images/greetings, but essentially the cards are identical. By doing one "portrait" and one "landscape" you end up with a nice variety. While these particular cards are very simple, they still look great. If you look closely you will see the images have been multi coloured with markers.

The Final Countdown!

This week I thought I'd share with you some of the cards that I have been receiving from my lovely friends/customers. It is always such a buzz to not only open a hand made card, but to see that it's been made with Stampin Up products!!!! And these are just wonderful. I'll be back between Christmas and New Year with our new promotion starting Dec 30th. Don't forget the December Frenzy though, you can still order from this till Dec 30th if stock hasn't run out. I hope you all have a fabulous festive season.

2 weeks to go!

Quick post today with the obvious reason- there is ONLY 2 weeks to go! My above cards are a variation on a card I did earlier in the countdown. It is so easy to create a variety of cards using the same basic layout. Here I just changed the image, and with the "Dasher" card I turned the card the other way and added a punched greeting. Still all the same size pieces which make it quick when making lots of cards at once. See my piles of cards below I have been adding to each day. Get a production line going and you'll have heaps of cards to send out in no time at all. One of these may even be heading to your place!!

3 weeks to go!

With only three weeks to go and only 1 full week of school left before the kids are let loose 24/7, we are in desperate need of quick and easy Xmas projects. These cards are perfect for that! They only use 1 piece of CS so they're economical as well! I just went through my stamps and found various small images that I thought could work for a wreath. Some are from Circle circus, the spiral is from Trendy Trees. Then I just grabbed my markers and randomly started stamping. The greeting is from Curly Cute, one of our new sets of stamps which I just love. You can see below where I turned the card around and then using my Stamp-a-ma-jig, stamped the greeting as 2 words on top of each other.

The last feature I'll point out is the BLING! If you look closely you should be able to see on the spirals I added some Crystal effects and then put some chunky sprinkles over the top. Too easy!

5 Weeks to Christmas

This week I've used all sorts of tools and techniques! Maybe I went a little overboard????? What do you think?
The main part is the medallion stamp in the middle. I have used the emerging colour technique for this one using the Merry Christmas greeting from Contempo Christmas and the swirl from Baroque Motifs on a Whisper White card. Then you stamp the medallion image in versa mark and emboss it clear over the top of your images. You simply apply colour over the top of this either with sponging or brayering and you're left with this multi layered and coloured image.
I cut the medallion out and cut it in half, then adhered it to the Olive Card.
Other features include the sponging around the edges in Olive, versa mark background using one of the small flourishes from the Tiny Tags set, polka dot ribbon and the greeting from Many Merry Messages.

6 Weeks to go!

Hi all! Oh these weeks are flying by. Half way there! O.K so this week I have again reached for my favourite set for this year, Contempo Christmas. It is really getting a work out and at only $26.95 it is such great value. I have used two of our current In Colors, Poppy Parade and Pear Pizzazz. I just love that you can now get markers in the In Colors. I have made use of them here to multi colour both the tree stamp and the greeting before stamping. The DS paper is from the Level 1 hostess pack which has patterned papers in all 5 In Colors. One last thing in case you're wondering- the scalloped border. I made this using my Square scallop punch. I cut up the square to just use 3 of the sides and lined them up along side each other to make the border. This creates a nice smaller border. I think I'll be making a whole stack of these this year. This card was so quick to make. Hope you like it!

7 Weeks to go!

This week I have a NON-TRADITIONAL Christmas card for you. This layout was used originally as a birthday card for a friend, in purple & vanilla but I thought by adding a Xmas greeting it could also work as a lovely Christmas card.
The colours are Baja Breeze and the new Concord Crush. The stamp set is Vintage Vogue. Notice how I have used markers on the top right hand corner to get the multi coloured effect, then with versa mark and clear embossing I have used the same image down in the left hand corner. The greeting comes from one of our new Christmas stamp sets, Contempo Christmas.
The vanilla piece is my favourite new toy, the Top Note die for the Big Shot. In one easy step the die cuts out this shape flawlessly and also does the border of fine holes to give this piece an instant look of elegance. Keep a look out for a post on here soon where I show a variety of ways you can use this die.
Till next week,

8 Weeks till Christmas

I keep saying it but I really don't know where this year has gone. O.K so this week I have a super easy card for you all which is a great one that the kids can join in and help do!
The strips of Real Red, Old Olive and Baja Breeze CS have been put through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing folder. So quick and easy! My holly is made with punches. First I punched two large ovals in Old Olive, then with my 1/2 inch circle I went around the edges cutting small half circles out. The berries are also punched with the same 1/2 inch punch. "Happy Holidays" is from our Many Merry Messages set which always gets a work out at this time of year. I really like the clean and simple design of this card. You could whip up a whole stack of these in no time at all.
Till next time,

10 weeks till Christmas and New Products!

I have finally had time to play with some new products from the 10/11 Idea Book and Catalogue. If you don't already have a copy let me know and I'll get one to you. At $12.95 each they are such excellent value!
So above I have used 2 new In Colors Concord crush (purple) and Pear Pizzazz (green) which I think look fantastic together for Christmas cards or any time of year for that matter!!
The matching patterned papers are from the DS paper pack which is a 1st Level Hostess Gift option instead of stamps. These often get overlooked but are a great resource to have. They include the 5 new In colours in some gorgeous patterns.
Another new product is the DS paper Newsprint (the musical notes). This set of papers mainly has writing, letters, numbers etc but it also has a page of sheet music which can be used on so many projects.
The image is my friend Dasher. You'll find him on the inside back page of the catalogue for $14.95. He is a single stamp which I know I'll be using a lot this Christmas.
The other new product is the Concord Crush Stitched-Poly Ribbon and the greeting is from our ever popular set Short & sweet that carried over from last year's catalogue.
