Which colours are best???

So which do you like the best. I demonstrated this card at a party last weekend (hi Lianne), and I love how simply changing colours can make a card look different. I love them both. The softer, pastel colours of the first give a charming feel, where the boldness of the black, red and cream create a whole different look. So what's your pick?

I think I need to add a black pearl for the birds eye! I loved using my antique brads and "love letter" DS papers on this one.

4 Cards and no stamping!!

Today's post, my first for 2011, is all about using up some of my "stash" from last year!!! I also wanted to show how easy it is to create quick cards using tools other than stamps and ink. The cards below use all Stampin' Up products and were a lot of fun to create.

Finally had a chance to play with my 2 step bird punch for this one AND the new Square Lattice Embossing folder (from the Summer Mini catty) with the Big Shot to create the textured background. I love how it all came together.

I've always loved these DS papers. This is a simple and clean card which was super quick to create. I think I'll make a few sets of these up in different colours. The butterflies are made using the gorgeous Embosslits Die, Beautiful wings, with the Big Shot. This die is excellent value at $21.95 as it cuts out 5 different butterflies at once, with different sizes and patterns.

These two cards again use up some DS paper from my collection and can be used for lots of different occasions. The white flowers were in the old Pretties Kit. You can now purchase a pkt of 40 paper daisies by themselves for just $13.50. (see pg 140 of IB&C). The middle of the flowers was created using the Build a brad Kit. I've punched a circle from the DS papers to attach to each brad.

So there you have it. 4 quick cards made using various tools and bits and pieces. Hope you like them!

Countdown till Christmas !!!

WHAT????? Yes folks I'm sorry to scare you but yes we are now officially within 12 weeks of Christmas. Each Saturday for the next 11 weeks I'll be posting a Christmas themed project for you all. There are a lot of exciting new products to share with you. I have had NO time at all lately for stamping and still don't have my samples from the new catalogue ready to show you like I promised. It won't happen overnight...... but it will happen!
So stay tuned. This Saturday you will see the first of my countdown projects and more regular blogging after that.

I am still here!!!!

Just a quick note to say I am still here in papercraft land, just buried somewhere under a pile of kids, work, housework and life in general.

I am happy to report though that I can see a light at the end of this tunnel, and will have another post VERY SOON with samples to show you. As you know we are full swing in the middle of Sale-a-bration but time is running out. 1 week till Christmas!!!!

O.K, seriously, where did that 12 weeks go???

I have used our Holiday Treasures DS papers, a diecut self adhesive "bauble" from the I wish scrap kit and two of my favourite things: scallop circle punch and the Best Yet stamp set.

Teenage Boy Grunge

Today I wanted to challenge myself to create a card for a teenager. I don't own any of our sport themed sets and while our "Seaworthy" set is great for males with it's surfer image and boats etc, I wanted more of a "grunge" look to the card.

I have used chocolate chip and pacific point for my colour scheme and threw in some hodgepodge hardware and hemp twine to continue the masculine look.




The stamps used are Sanded for the background, two of the circle images from Circle circus and the seaweed image from Ocean Commotion. I have also sponged around the edges. Even though I have used quite a few products for this card, it was still nice and quick to create.

Just a quick post today to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has been on here and checked out my blog and especially to those who have left comments. It is really appreciated.

So here is a Thank you card. I can't use this "Great Friend" set enough! That butterfly is just beautiful! I have teamed it up with the "Haiku" DS papers and a rub on for the "thank you" from the Fashion District rub ons. Then it's just coordinating cardstocks, scalloped punched borders and a little sponging around the edges.

Finding Inspiration

Hi everyone,
Of all places to find inspiration, I was doing the dishes and water splashed on the floor. I reached for my paper towels to clean it up and voila! I thought how great that would look on a card!!! I know, I know, some people will do anything to get out of housework!

So here is a photo of the "inspiring" paper towel and below that is the card I came up with.

I first stamped the swirl pattern from "Baroque Motifs" repeatedly around a piece of white CS, then ran this through my crimper ( a great tool I might add). I actually ran it through a couple of different directions to try and get the more textured look like the paper towel.

The rest of the card was very easy just adding the ribbon and punched out greeting. Simple but effective. Leave me a comment and tell me what you think.
